Equity in Education Commitment

For more than 40 years, Gallopade has made an organic and innate commitment to equity in education. Providing resources for a non-biased, inclusive, aspirational, and inspirational education (in school and out) has been a hallmark and cornerstone of our family-owned business from the beginning to the present. Gallopade has always focused on historical truth, honesty, clarity, and comprehensiveness by including all aspects of a subject so that students understand the actions, contributions, and perspectives of diverse people as part of the whole cloth of the historical narrative.

Our Products Do More Than Educate

They develop the competencies, confidence, and aspirations that equip and inspire students to become lifelong learners, independent thinkers, and architects of their future.

Our Opportunity to Make a Difference

Today, we are excited by the opportunity to bring even more equity and inclusiveness to education as our country rethinks answers to the question, “What is American history?” Gallopade is collaborating with diverse educators, organizations, and writers to share the histories, experiences, and perspectives of diverse, underserved, and disadvantaged groups of people so that the stories and perspectives that have been omitted from traditional accounts of history become an integral and integrated part of the American experience and history that all students study and learn. This history is not just the story of the past, but it is the foundation we build upon with the next generations of Americans.

Our Commitment

We are committed to helping this and future generations develop the knowledge, skills, empathy, courage, grit, determination, and confidence that equips, motivates, and empowers them to make their community, state, country, and the world a land of opportunity, justice, safety, inclusivity, and true freedom for all.

  • We commit to writing with respect, honesty, and clarity for all students.
  • We commit to presenting the histories, experiences, and perspectives of diverse racial, ethnic, gender, and identity groups.
  • We commit to using diverse, authentic, respectful personas in situational illustrations, examples, stories, activities, and assessments.
  • We commit to sensitivity to and respect for students’ diverse social and economic situations, including the challenges of family, economic, food, and housing instability.
  • We commit to enhancing the social and emotional well-being of all students.
  • We commit to providing sensitivity, respect, inclusion, encouragement, and support to students who face physical, learning, mental health, language acquisition, and other challenges that may impact their lives as children, adolescents, or adults.
  • We commit to providing unbiased facts and authentic primary sources that incorporate diverse experiences and perspectives, so students learn to think critically and analytically and are empowered to draw their own conclusions and sculpt their own opinions.
  • We commit to adding new learning supports and instructional methodologies that help learners of all levels, cultural groups, and backgrounds overcome obstacles, expand their potential, and experience success with a prioritized and dedicated effort to assist students who have fallen behind due to inequities and biases in education in the past.
  • We commit to seeking out, listening to, learning from, and responding to feedback, requests, and ideas from students, teachers, educators, thought leaders, subject matter experts, and others who wish to contribute to the improvement of education and equity so that we may continue to be a valuable partner to the teachers, parents, students, and others who we serve.
