As many of you know, 2010 has been declared the Year of the Children's Mystery Book. The purpose of this program is to instill a love of reading in children through exposure to the mystery book genre. To accomplish this effort a number of resources have been developed including: a Summer Reading Program, bookmarks, handouts, a Mystery Party Kit and a Mystery Challenge. The Mystery Challenge gives young readers the opportunity to win a Spooktacular Surprise, become a Mystery Master and have their name put on the Wall of Fame! They accomplish all this by reading six mystery books during the 2010 calendar year and visiting www.childrensmysterybooks.org to enter their progress. Bookmarks have been created to help readers track their progress and now a tool has been created to help YOU sell more mystery books!
