Roll Along the Oregon Trail With New Children’s Mystery
(OREGON CITY, OR)—Once again Carole Marsh made learning about history fun for young readers with The Mystery on the Oregon Trail. Readers can join the adventure as the book’s characters travel from the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri to the end of
the Oregon Trail in Oregon City, Oregon, and experience some of what the
pioneers faced as they traveled the trail in the 1800s!
Readers discover what it was really like to cross the plains in a covered wagon
as they follow the characters on their trip. This adventure takes readers to historic sites such as, Fort Kearny State Park,
Nebraska; Chimney Rock, Nebraska; Independence Rock, Wyoming; Fort Hall, Idaho;
and to the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Oregon City, Oregon.
“I feel it is crucial for children to gain a greater understanding and
appreciation for the sacrifices made by so many pioneers,” says author Carole Marsh. “This mystery is a great opportunity to educate and entertain children about some
of the dangers pioneers faced, the food they ate and the supplies needed to
make the long trek.”
Carole Marsh Mysteries encompass 72 books in nine distinct series. The Mystery on the Oregon Trail is the 33rd book in the Real Kids! Real Places! series, also known as America’s National Mystery Book Series, and publishes January 25, 2010. This series,
which won Learning Magazine’s Teacher’s Choice Award, features real children visiting real places across the United
States. All Carole Marsh Mysteries incorporate unique features that expand
their educational value, including SAT words, an online book club and fun
activities, along with having assigned Accelerated Reader quizzes, Lexile
