Award-Winning Children’s Author Makes a Splash With New Great Lakes Mystery
(CLEVELAND, OH)—It is not just the lake that is “eerie” in Carole Marsh’s The Mystery on the Great Lakes! Young readers will devour every mysterious detail as they travel the Great Lakes
region with the book’s characters by plane, boat and submarine. This mystery is full of exciting sites and historic facts, as well as spooky
text messages, haunted lighthouses and classic guitars.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio; Round Island
Lighthouse in Lake Huron, Michigan and Devil’s Island in Lake Superior, Wisconsin are just three of the well-known places
this book takes readers to, as well as many other fascinating places found in
the Great Lakes region.
“It was impossible to pick my favorite location in the Great Lakes region to
single out, so I tried to get in as many highlights as I could,” says author Carole Marsh. “Also, the historic lighthouses and mystifying islands made a perfect setting for
a great mystery.”
Carole Marsh Mysteries encompass 72 books in nine distinct series. The Mystery on the Great Lakes is the 30th book in the Real Kids! Real Places! series, also known as America’s National Mystery Book Series, and publishes January 25, 2010. This series,
which won Learning Magazine’s Teacher’s Choice Award, features real children visiting real places across the United
States. All Carole Marsh Mysteries incorporate unique features that expand
their educational value, including SAT words, an online book club and fun
activities, along with having assigned Accelerated Reader quizzes, Lexile
