Children’s Publishing Company Sweetens up a Bitter Topic

(PEACHTREE CITY, GA)—So clever is Gallopade International at making important topics kid-friendly, they’re using gumballs of all flavors as a metaphor for all the different types of Americans. Gallopade International, a children’s publishing company located in Peachtree City, Georgia takes children’s education very seriously. For the last 30 years they have tackled some of the most sensitive and controversial subjects ranging from sex education to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It comes as no surprise that Gallopade has developed an educational resource for teachers to use in their classrooms that helps children understand the national census which is mandated every 10 years.

Their 2010 Census Classroom Kit is not only educational, but is fun and provides children with a sense of ownership and belonging in the census process. Kids laugh and drop their census forms into the colorful box as they proudly display their “I Count” stickers. “It is an excellent resource to educate children about the upcoming census and how it affects them,” says Carole Marsh, CEO and founder of Gallopade International.  “Children are more than capable of comprehending the census process if it is explained to them properly,” Marsh adds.

Gallopade International President Michele Yother explains, “We created the 2010 Census Classroom Kit to help jumpstart classroom-appropriate discussion and provide educators with an interactive way to teach students about the census process, without prying into students’ personal ethnicity or housing situation. Gallopade worked to think of everything teachers need when putting this kit together and have included a Census History and Facts Book, Census Activity Book, 30 Student Census Forms and 30 ‘I Count!’ stickers, all contained within a colorful box.”

Gallopade is the go-to resource for educators and retailers seeking kid-friendly, timely, educational tools. “We carry Gallopade’s great products at the National Museum of Patriotism located in Atlanta, Georgia. Their books are a real cornerstone to learning so much about America,” says Nick Snider, Chairman/Founder of the National Museum of Patriotism.

Gallopade International is an industry leader in children’s fiction and supplemental educational material and has won numerous awards, including the National School Supply and Equipment Association’s Excellence in Education Award and the iParenting Media Award for Greatest Products.
