Greenville, NC – Beloved children’s author Carole Marsh will be signing books and greeting fans on Tuesday,
January 24, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at the University Commons Shopping Center in Greenville, NC.
Now a celebrity among elementary and middle schoolers. Marsh is known
nation-wide for writing mysteries that captivate the minds of young readers.
For more than 30 years, her popular Real Kids! Real Places! mystery book series has inspired a faithful readership of children, teachers, and parents.
This upcoming visit will mark the long-awaited return for the Marsh, who had her
first ever “author visit” after publishing her very first book in Winterville in 1979. It was then that
Marsh visited a local Winterville elementary school to discuss the Missing Head Mystery, her debut educational novel based in Bath, North Carolina. That first book is
still in print, though under a different title; The Missing Head Mystery (now The Mystery of Blackbeard the Pirate) launched a long successful writing career for Marsh.
Marsh’s most recent releases in the Real Kids! Real Places! series, The Baseball Mystery and The Great Train Mystery, are both hot-off-the-press following their January 2, 2012 release date. Marsh is
also the author of The Mystery in Chocolate Town, The Mystery at Disney World, and The Mystery of Biltmore House. Marsh has been honored with the 2012 Teacher’s Choice Award from Learning Magazine for a sweet-but-smart novel for kids ages 9-12, entitled Mary America: First Girl President of the United States. She also recently published a tween novel entitled When Kids Take Over NASA.
Marsh will be visiting with students at Ridgewood Elementary prior to the Barnes
& Noble book signing, which starts at 5 p.m. Known for creating materials that
are both educational and appealing to a young audience, Marsh is the author of
86 children’s mysteries to date. In addition to her collection of mysteries, Marsh has
produced numerous other learning materials including the critically-acclaimed Student’s Civil War series and the award-winning digital whiteboard program, The Daily Dozen.
Carole Marsh and her family are former residents of Bath and Rocky Mount, NC.
