Lincoln Birthday

American Milestones

  • February 11th, 2008 begins a yearlong 200th birthday celebration for America’s 16th President! Gallopade's all-new educational, informative and entertaining resources will help you celebrate Lincoln's birthday as you educate your students about one of America's most influential presidents. These books, reproducible activities, decoratives and more are valuable supplemental teaching materials designed to engage your students effectively so they have fun as they learn!
  • As part of marking this momentous date in American history, the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission is encouraging all schools to participate in a national teach-in on February 12, 2009. "Schools that participate in the National Teach-In will receive certificates recognizing them as a Lincoln Bicentennial School and they will be listed on the ALBC Web site. As a component of this project, the ALBC will partner with the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Federation of State Humanities Councils and National History Day to encourage Lincoln-themed Teacher Workshops that will help prepare and inspire teachers to focus on Lincoln during the bicentennial year."
