Gallopade International | Sand, Clues and Fun Press Release

Lots of Sand...Lots of Clues...Lots of Fun

PEACHTREE CITY, GEORGIAThe Puzzle of the Shark Surfer Girl is #3 in the new "Criss, Cross, Applesauce" early chapter book series, by children's mystery writer Carole Marsh. The "Criss, Cross, Applesauce" detective agency was formed by three best friends—Leah Criss, Sara Cross, and Aimee Applesauce. The girls have already solved The Case of the Hunchback Hairdresser and The Riddle of the Missing Puppies, the first two books in the series.

Now, even on an end of summer beach trip to Georgia Beach, Tybee Island, the three friends are presented with a new mystery that has shark related clues. Along the way, they learn about sharks and a mysterious vacationer that seems to turn up everywhere they go!

Author Carole Marsh spends part of her time writing in her home in Savannah's historic district. She loves visiting Tybee Island and has always been interested in sharks. Introducing high interest science subjects to girls at a young age is an added bonus in these fun-to-read books.

The series was developed and introduced to interest early readers who are excited to read a "big kids book." The books are about three girls who know the importance of friendship. And, by making a good effort and working together they can always seem to "find" a mystery, riddle or puzzle to solve. "Me and my two best friends like reading stories about the three girls. It makes us keep our eyes and ears open because we want to solve a mystery too!" boasts Sarah Cigrand of St. Augustine, Florida. "I can't wait to read about what they do and where they go next!"

"The Three Amigos" is a companion series for young boys that publisher Gallopade International introduced simultaneously with "Criss, Cross Applesauce." Titles include The Case of the Crybaby Cowboy, The Riddle of the Ooglie Booglie and just out— The Puzzle of the Indian Arrowhead. School Library Journal says, "These early chapter books are quick reads and encourage youngsters to embrace new experiences and make new friends. Short chapters and fun sketches will entice reluctant readers as well."

"Criss, Cross, Applesauce" and "Three Amigos" books join other popular Carole Marsh Mysteries series that are loved by both parents and children. Marsh has been writing for over 20 years and has over 10,000 books and products in print.
