Gallopade International | Goshawful Goldrush Mystery Press Release

The Goshawful Gold Rush Mystery

PEACHTREE CITY, GEORGIA—Gallopade International announced today the forthcoming publication of The Goshawful Gold Rush Mystery by Carole Marsh. The title will be number 19 in the Real Kids/Real Places series of the Carole Marsh Mysteries.

The popular children’s author has always wanted to write a mystery about the history of the Gold Rush and a recent vacation to the west coast from her home in Georgia put it utmost on her mind. “Many people do not know that the first gold rush was in Georgia and that the “rush” applies across the country because people from all over headed west to find their fortune,” author Carole Marsh explains. “You see gold rush museums from North Carolina to Alaska.”

The author has many requests to “do a mystery about us,” and “Can I be a character in the book?” is the question that soon follows. In The Goshawful Gold Rush Mystery, two of the characters from two different states, were chosen from the Carole Marsh Mystery fan club. The Mystery Girl airplane will travel from Georgia to Missouri to Washington to pick up the characters and head west looking for “gold” just like people did years ago.

Carole Marsh Mysteries include a number of internationally popular series for readers aged 7–14. The Real Kids/Real Places series includes books set in some of America’s most famous locations, including Disney World, New York City, and Hershey, Pennsylvania. Marsh features real children in her books, such as many selected from applications sent to her fan club website, www.carolemarshmysteries.com. These highly respected educational titles are widely used in elementary and middle schools across the U.S., and are popular in reading programs and book clubs. The books are also part of the Accelerated Reader program.

Midwest Book Review recently called Carole Marsh Mysteries, “a true gem of original, informative and entertaining storytelling.” And, Christian School Products Magazine says that the mysteries “are a great way to incorporate reading into other curriculum areas. Boy and girl characters in every story make these suitable for all kids.”

Carole Marsh is also the creator of the State Experience™, which includes a series of quality educational books, workbooks, maps, CD-ROMs and other materials widely used by elementary schools in every state. The products are correlated to each state’s educational standards.

Gallopade International, established in 1979, is a leader in the production of curriculum and supplementary educational materials. In 2003, the National School Supply and Equipment Association awarded Gallopade their Excellence in Education award.

The Goshawful Gold Rush Mystery will appear in retail stores in April. For further information call 800-536-2438 or visit www.carolemarshmysteries.com.
