"Star in a Mystery" Official Contest Rules
Eligibility: Contest open to Kindergarten through 8th grade teachers and classes who are residents of and teaching within the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) between January 1, 2007 and December 1, 2007. Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws.
How to Enter: Teachers may enter the class contest by writing and submitting an original entry document of why Gallopade should choose your class to be featured in a Carole Marsh Mystery. Be creative! Let us know why in an essay, poem, or song—that's up to you! Mail your entry along with a photo (including teacher!) to Gallopade by December 1, 2007.
Each entry must include the teacher's name, grade, school, complete home address and zip code, complete school address with zip code, home telephone number, and school telephone number. Entries must be mailed to Gallopade International headquarters. Mail to: Class Contest, Gallopade International, PO Box 2779, Peachtree City, Georgia 30269. All entries must be postmarked no later than December 1, 2007 and received by December 7, 2007. The winner will be chosen, the book will be published and the prize awarded in the spring of 2008.
Prizes: One (1) Winning Class will be featured in a Carole Marsh Mystery. The class will also receive a class visit by Carole Marsh, and a classroom set of mysteries for the class (30 paperback books) plus goody bags for each class member (posters, bookmarks and more!)
Winners will be notified by telephone. Entries will be judged based on originality. Judges' decisions are final on all matters relating to this contest.
Prizes will be awarded in the spring of 2008 and class visit must be scheduled and completed by June 30, 2008.
Prizes are not transferable; no substitutions are allowed unless made by the Gallopade International President. All winners will be required to verify address and execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, authenticity, and publicity release within 10 days of notification attempt or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. Taxes will not apply to school winners.
Conditions: All entries must be the sole and original work of the entrant. All entries may be featured in future Gallopade International publications not limited to the Classroom Mystery. Winning Entry will be the sole property of Gallopade International and can be used at Gallopade's discretion. No information regarding entries or judging will be disclosed. The laws of the state of Georgia govern contest. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules.
Winner will be posted on the Gallopade International website by February 1, 2008.
